Trans Mountain and its general construction contractor responsible for Spreads 6 and 7A, Michels Canada, recently donated $15,000 to Source Langley Food Bank and Surrey Food Bank. Project workers on Spread 7A, which extends from 232 Street in Langley to the Fraser River Crossing in Surrey, generously raised the funds during the 2021 holiday season.
The Source Langley Food Bank and Surrey Food Bank each received $7,500 to address the needs of their community members. Employees from Michels Canada and Trans Mountain hand-delivered the donations, which were well received and greatly appreciated by both organizations.
“Our workforce is proud to donate to the local food banks in this region. It’s important to us to give back where we live and work” said Lexa Hobenshield, Manager, Engagement and Community Investment.
